Local Companies Combine Resources for Job Fair
HOUSTON (September 17, 2009) – On Saturday, September 19, 2009, private companies along with local and national government agencies will combine resources to host a City-Wide Public Job Fair at the George R. Brown Convention Center from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. There are more than 1,000 positions available for immediate placement. This job fair is sponsored by the City of Houston and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
“This is a great opportunity for those individuals who are seeking employment and these employers will be hiring on site,” said Larry V. Green, Esq., CEO of HoustonWorks USA. “The employers will be available to discuss their current employment opportunities, plus there will be workshops available on Interviewing Skills, Resume Writing and Rebranding of Your Skills—which are all very helpful when looking for employment.”
The job fair is expected to draw thousands of people who are looking for employment. To avoid long lines, it is recommended that you pre-register at your local WorkForce Solutions Office. Remember to bring numerous of copies of your resume and to dress professionally.
