HOUSTON (July 14, 2010) – Many Houstonians will keep their cool despite rising summer temperatures as HoustonWorks USA, in cooperation with CenterPoint Energy, provide energy efficiency upgrades to low-income residents. The Energy Efficiency program is part of Agencies in Action which assists individuals residing in the CenterPoint service area, who own their home and are at or below the 200 percent federal poverty guidelines.
“We are very excited to be partnering with CenterPoint Energy’s Agencies in Action” said Larry V. Green, CEO, HoustonWorks USA. “This program will help Houstonians weatherize their homes and in some cases, we will be able to provide homeowners with replacement window air conditioning units.”
Agencies in Action is a CenterPoint program that funds local community action agencies to provide energy efficiency upgrades to homes of low-income residents in the Houston area.
