Howard F. Lederer, Chair President/CEO Atec, Inc. Elected by our Board as Chair, Mr. Lederer provides the ultimate leadership of Houston Works USA. He conveys policy, oversees the goals and activities of the Executive Director/CEO and staff, represents the Board in our broad community and presides over meetings of the Board.
Howard is a native Houstonian, and attended St. Thomas High School and the University of Texas. |
Howard Ebow, Vice-chair External Affairs City Councilman City of LaPorte Howard Ebow as Vice Chair of External Affairs provides oversight of the corporation's external affairs and perform such duties as directed by the Board. Howard Ebow is a City Councilman of the City of La Porte. He has been a Technician at Linde Gas Inc since 1997. He has had a career in the petro chemical field since 1979. Howard's Community involvement history includes President of the La Porte Girls Softball Association, San Jacinto College Fire Prevention Technology Advisory board, La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission. Howard has Business Administration degree from the University of Houston. |
Bonnie Hellums, Vice-chair Development Judge 247th Judicial District Court Bonnie Hellums as Vice Chair of Development coordinates the corporation’s Development efforts and such duties as directed by the Board. Judge Bonnie Hellums has been Judge of the 247th Family District Court of Harris County, Texas and the Judge of the first Family Drug court in Harris County since 1995. Judge Hellums' early background was in Houston's higher educational system. She has held administrative positions with Rice University and began her distinguished career at the University of Houston. Judge Hellums holds a BA in Psychology and Religion from Southern Methodist University, a Master of Education/Counseling-Psychology from the University of Illinois and Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. |
Yhi-Min Ho, Vice-chair Organization and Compensation Dean Emeritus, Cameron School of Business University of St. Thomas Dr. Yhi-Min Ho as Vice Chair of Organization and Compensation has oversight and direction for the corporation regarding organizational and employee compensation matters. Dr. Ho has an extensive background in education. He received a B.A. from the National Taiwan University, an M.S. from Utah State University and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University all degrees in economics. Dr. Ho's additional academic experience includes his current position as Dean Emeritus, Cameron School of Business, University of St. Thomas. In his professional history Dr. Ho has served as a Member, Advisory Board, Region VI,U.S. Small Business Administration; Member, Board of Trustees, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System; Member, Board of Directors, International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education; Member, Board of Directors, Houston Taipei Sister City Society; Member, Board of Advisors, Houston Chinese Community Cultural Center. |
Vernice Bell, Secretary President MEGA Group Consultants, Inc. Vernice Bell as Secretary has oversight of the preparation and distribution of notices of meetings of the Board and agendas and all other notices. Ms. Bell has thirty-six years of managerial, administrative and technical experience ranging through federal, state and city governments, private industry and the volunteer sector, eighteen years in a consulting capacity. She has a B.S. in Social Work Administration and a B.S. In Sociology both from Murray State University, Murray, KY. |
