Engineering Competition

To secure America’s global competitiveness, HoustonWorks USA and Schlumberger are sponsoring the city-wide Engineering Excellence (E2) Competition. E2 will inspire excellence, confidence and curiosity in students and encourage them to create and explore a vision of future technology by combining their imaginations with the tools of science. The E2 Competition will provide students with the foundation for success in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers. The competition will require students to use research, presentation and computer skills, practical math and science applications and problem solving skills.

General volunteers will assist in registration, serving refreshments and other duties as needed.  Volunteers must be 16 and over.

Judges and volunteers will be given competition t-shirts.

The E2 Competition is designed to provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their problem-solving skills, research and presentation skills, and their practical application of math, science and technology.  The top 10 winners from each education level (elementary, middle and high school) from the Preliminary competition on February 4, 2012 will advance to the final round of competition on February 18, 2012.
